Title: Senior REDCap Analyst

Location: 100% Remote / Must work and Live in the state of Michigan
Purpose:This position serves as the Senior REDCap Analyst for the Biomonitoring, Epidemiology and Response Section. This is a senior-level position that is responsible for developing efficient processes for access, review, and management of environmental health data, and for data analysis in support of the section's evaluation of and response to human exposures to environmental chemicals. The Senior REDCap Analyst will evaluate the Section's analytical needs, plan data collection, develop outputs, and assist others in the Section with understanding and implementation of information systems. In addition, the position will support special projects and activities as requested by the Unit Manager, Section Manager, or Division Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duty 1: Develop and maintain data systems to receive, process, track, and report data generated by ongoing projects within the Recruitment, Operations and Results Development Unit.
Research, collect, consolidate, analyze, and maintain program data necessary to meet program reporting and evaluation requirements, and the goals of the agency program or service.
Evaluate organizational and/or operational needs and recommend solutions.
Design, implement, and document data collection, processing, and reporting systems, primarily using REDCap software.
Use and maintain computer databases to record and analyze data on program and service activities.
Use statistical software such as SAS or R to process and clean data for actionable reports to project toxicologists and epidemiologists.
Ensure all procedures and practices uphold data security and confidentiality requirements.
Duty 2: Collaborate with epidemiologists, laboratory staff, toxicologists, and other project staff to identify data gaps and support data quality assurance, evaluation, and improvement activities.
Analyze ongoing program operations and recommend modifications of policies and procedures to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and recommend alternative state and departmental strategies to address and resolve a variety of issues and problems.
Recommend criteria, standards, and guidelines to assess agencies' program structures and determine their compatibility with the objectives and priorities of the state program area.
Design and implement methods for program review and evaluation.
Provide technical support for the development, use, and quality assurance of data collection methods.
Coordinate and track data-related activities for project reports and evaluation.
Provide benchmark metrics on project performance and data quality to project team members and management.
Duty 3: Help coordinate data-related activities through effective, proactive written and oral communication with project staff and other stakeholders.
Provide consultation to and coordinate departmental programs with state and federal agencies, boards, and commissions, private or public organizations, and communities in an assigned area.
Propose, develop, and prepare policy materials, operations manuals, and supporting instructions in a program area.
Conduct research and analysis, prepare reports, and conduct correspondence related to the work activities of the departmental program area.
Develop data management plans including data collection tools, data quality assurance, and data cleaning procedures.
Create plans and models for new technical assistance and evaluation activities.
Always represent the best interests of MDHHS and MPHI.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major required. A bachelor's degree in a closely related field; health informatics, statistics, information technology, or computer science preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three years of professional experience required. Experience in data system development and management, performing data analysis, and providing administrative support is strongly preferred. Advanced and demonstrated skill using online data collection tools (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics), Microsoft Excel, and relational database management system software is required. Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS) is strongly preferred.
Alternate Education: Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
