Job Title: Battery Electric OBD Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Electric Vehicle Engineer with expertise in control systems, MATLAB/Simulink, and AECD verification. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a passion for automotive engineering, particularly in the realm of electric vehicles or have applicable OBD experience with ICE
Responsibilities
Model, simulate, and verify dynamic systems using MATLAB/Simulink for control systems.
Calibrate Battery Management Systems (BMS) for state-of-charge (SOC), state-of-health (SOH), and thermal performance.
Optimize powertrain parameters such as torque and regenerative braking for efficiency.
Calibrate OBD-II systems to monitor BEV components and develop diagnostic algorithms for faults.
Perform root cause analysis of failed components and identify control system or software issues.
Document verification results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or Control Systems Engineering.
Ideally looking for 1-4 years of OBD experience
Experience in MATLAB/Simulink, including Control System Toolbox and System Identification Toolbox.
Experience with Inca or Etas
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Awareness of electrification and real driving emissions (RDE) standards.
Effective people skills for working in groups and independently.
Work Environment
MUST BE ABLE TO BE ON SITE IN THE TROY, MI AREA 5 DAYS A WEEK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
