Position Title: Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Coordinator
Reports To: Curriculum Director
Salary: Determined by the PEA Master Contract

Position Summary:
The MTSS Coordinator plays a vital role in connecting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports within a multi-tiered framework. This position supports student success through strategic leadership, training, and coordination with building teams. The coordinator oversees MTSS implementation, leads data-driven interventions, and ensures alignment with district goals while fostering a supportive and equitable learning environment.
Qualifications:

Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience

Effective communication skills
-
In-depth knowledge of MTSS, including PBIS, RTI, SEL, and restorative practices

Awareness of community-related issues impacting students

Experience working with at-risk student populations

Strong academic skills and instructional understanding

Proven ability to manage and lead complex projects

Ability to build positive relationships with challenging students

Flexibility to work some evenings and travel throughout the district

Ability to work in a dynamic and physically active school environment

Must be self-directed and able to follow supervisor directives

Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and monitor a district-wide MTSS implementation plan aligned with district vision

Establish and lead School MTSS Committees representing each school and its stakeholders

Ensure effective instructional design and practices are embedded across all learning environments

Use needs assessments to guide Tier 1, 2, and 3 intervention development and problem-solving protocols

Coordinate universal screening for academics, social-emotional learning, and behavior

Develop and deliver training and coaching on MTSS frameworks and evidence-based tiered interventions

Implement a data management system for effective data collection, analysis, and MTSS program evaluation

Collaborate with community organizations, agencies, out-of-school programs, and families to support students

Provide in-service training and support for Title I program activities

Perform additional duties as assigned
