Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In this contract position, you will play a key role in supporting lending operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Collaborating closely with a small, dynamic team, you will assist with daily balancing processes, record updates, and other critical accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
Perform nightly balancing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Update records and assist underwriters and funders with loan-related documentation.
Distribute chargeback notices from the previous business day during the morning hours.
Coordinate expedited document logistics via FedEx to support funding operations.
Maintain accurate records and assist with account coding and reconciliation.
Collaborate with team members to streamline lending processes and improve efficiency.
Provide administrative support to the funding team for consumer loans and indirect lending.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations in a fast-paced environment.
Uphold organizational standards for accuracy, attention to detail, and timely task completion. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
Proficiency in handling chargebacks and consumer loan processes.
Familiarity with loan underwriting and indirect lending practices.
Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Knowledge of banking industry operations and fund management is preferred.
