GENERAL SUMMARY:
To operate, troubleshoot, and repair Mechanical H.V.A.C. Refrigeration and Plumbing System with their auxiliary components, controls, and stations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Starts-Stops systems, operates, logs, and adjusts Mechanical H.V.A.C. Refrigeration Systems.
· Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic air compressors and their related components.
· Addresses and repairs major or minor plumbing problems. Repairs valves, traps, fittings, and controls. 4. Dismantles malfunctioning equipment and performs diagnostic testing.
· Performs basic electrical troubleshooting.
· Rebuilds and installs pumps, electric motors, and other related equipment.
· Performs rigging of heavy mechanical equipment.
· Prepares daily readings, logs, and energy data.
· Maintains and operates welding, soldering, and brazing equipment.
· Reads blueprints, schematics, and maintains code compliance issues.
· Instructs other department personnel in emergency plant situations.
· Performs preventive maintenance functions: Operates computerized energy management systems. 13.Performs all other duties as directed.

PERSONAL INTERACTION:
Interacts with hospital staff, patients, visitors, contractors, and vendors. Position requires communication, sensitivity, teamwork, motivation skills, respect and a high level of customer satisfaction skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Minimum of five years of experience in related trades required.
· Related trades experience in a hospital or health care environment preferred.
