Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Muskegon, Michigan. In this role, you will take ownership of vital financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and strategic oversight. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate across various levels of the organization while driving key financial initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and analyze company financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Lead budgeting processes and provide insights to support organizational financial planning.
Oversee year-end reviews and audits, ensuring thorough and precise documentation.
Manage property insurance processes, including cost analysis and reporting.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering attention to detail and maintaining operational efficiency.
Conduct costing analysis to support decision-making and profitability strategies.
Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and lookups, to streamline financial data analysis.
Ensure timely completion of month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
Collaborate with various departments to address financial inquiries and optimize workflows.
Implement and maintain accounting software systems to support organizational needs. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with supervisory experience preferred.
Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and lookups.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices, and budget management.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements with accuracy.
Experience with month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
Familiarity with accounting software systems and financial reporting tools.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
