Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting operations by managing general ledger accounts, performing reconciliations, and supporting various financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and a commitment to maintaining financial integrity.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and timely accounting reports to support organizational decision-making.
Reconcile transactions and resolve discrepancies by analyzing account information.
Assist multiple departments with reconciling daily transactions and generating reports.
Maintain and update accounting records, ensuring all daily postings are accurate and complete.
Safeguard financial security by adhering to established internal controls.
Gather and summarize financial data to provide valuable insights to management.
Protect sensitive financial information by maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Support the accounts payable process and participate in wire desk functions.
Document and maintain records of all internal transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and improve processes. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accrual accounting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively during busy periods.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
