• Must be familiar with the basic machine functions
• Performs typical machine operations and produces parts per posted instructions
• Loads and unloads parts into CNC Machines
• Inspects parts with precision and measuring tools
• Assembles parts per posted instructions
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean condition and follows all safety regulations
• Completes any logs that may be required for the assigned area
• Sorts and packs parts
• Loads and unloads parts into a Washer
• Performs general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the shop area

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a non-exempt, full-time position (40 hours per week) with three different shift types:

• 1^st shift: 7am-3:30pm
• 2^nd shift: 3:15pm-11:45pm
• 3^rd shift: 11:15pm-7:45am

Eligibility Qualifications

• Understanding of manufacturing environment (e.g., Hilo traffic, inventory, safety protocols, quality systems, inspection frequencies, etc.)
• Proven experience as a machine operator
• Understanding of production procedures
• Ability to read and comprehend Work Instructions
• Knowledge of basic gaging and attention to detail
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear, etc.)
• Knowledge of deburring equipment (e.g., Bench/Handheld Grinders/Sanders, Files, Sandpaper, Scotchbrite pads, etc.)
• Physical stamina and strength
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• May be required to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
