MORTGAGE LOAN CLOSER
SUMMARY:
Performs skilled clerical and administrative duties in the preparation of mortgage loans; working with loan officers. Must be knowledgeable of the mortgage lending policies and applicable procedures as well as the county, state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Acquire the necessary information and prepare proper loan documentation to perform the mechanics of the loan process. Prepare and maintain files as well as follow up on pending items.
- Position will require more duties assigned to the mortgage lending and consumer lending area, with additional requirements of commercial loan documentation preparation and support. i.e., maintain all mortgage reporting information or customer credit denials.
- Assist with administrative tasks directed by loan officer/s, and assist other loan support/officers as needed.
- Comply with all requirements, policies and procedures of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and attend all mandatory BSA training as needed for this position. Additionally required to complete all required compliance and regulatory training, not limited to BSA.
- Assume and accomplish other duties as directed or self-initiated.

- Excellent organization, follow-through skills necessary.
- Working knowledge of computers and software, i.e., Word, Excel is necessary, and along with knowledge of Bank software program. Use of general office equipment necessary.
- Must be or become Notary.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Previous loan processing experience preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position may require individual to perform repetitive motion in operating equipment such as keyboard, calculator or other bank/office-related machinery. While performing duties the employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Position requirements may be, but are not limited to, walking, standing, sitting, bending, talking, hearing and communicating. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured required if driving.
- Position requires attendance at meetings.
- Some travel is expected for this position. However, travel is primarily local and during the business day.
