Job Summary
The Transportation Analyst is responsible for providing reporting and data management to assist the operation of the transportation department, as well as provide software support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and maintains reporting tools, and data and communicates and coordinates the transportation department's performance metrics as determined by management
Develops and maintains daily, weekly and monthly reports to be distributed to management and outside parties to track performance and financial results
Develops and distributes performance metrics to assess the internal performance
Maintains company and carriers' fuel and cost files daily
Interacts with internal and external technical personnel in order to facilitate the maintenance of transportation software and provide guidance and maintenance as needed
Monitor interface errors and resolve them while providing feedback and training to users
Supports outside carriers' use of the TMS website and provides training and support
Maintains lane rate information
Uses information to develop ad hoc reporting as required
Qualifications
Preferred bachelor's degree in business or related discipline or equivalent
Three to five years of experience in the transportation industry
Strong knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Prior experience with Transportation Management Systems is a plus
