Pay and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $20.12 - $26.96, dependent on qualifications and experience. The City of Kentwood offers free access to an employee assistance program. Part-time employees are also eligible for paid vacation and sick leave benefits.
We're proud to be among the first municipal employers in West Michigan to offer a fully paid parental leave benefit. Our policy provides employees with four weeks of fully paid leave following birth, adoption or placement for adoption. Employees who give birth are eligible for an additional two weeks of leave for a total of six weeks fully paid.

Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Court Administrator, main responsibilities for this role include maintaining security, safety and decorum in an assigned court and associated public facilities while the court is in session and during public access hours.
Our ideal candidate has a high school diploma/GED and two years of experience in law enforcement, corrections, or public safety and the ability to obtain a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) within 90 days from date of employment. The City of Kentwood is home to the 62-B District Court, which helps resolve disputes, promote rehabilitation and protect the community through its services. The court strives to earn the public’s trust and confidence by providing a fair and just forum for the resolution of civil and criminal disputes, providing services in a professional, timely and efficient manner with respect and courtesy, educating and providing services in an understandable and user-friendly fashion, being accountable for the resources invested in the court and recognizing the changing needs of the judicial system and the people it serves. The court has a civil division, criminal division, landlord/tenant division, probation department, small claims division and traffic division.
