Description
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to support a Muskegon, Michigan company. In this contract position, you will play a crucial role in managing invoice processing, vendor communication, and financial reconciliations to ensure smooth payment operations. Responsibilities:
Process and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services, ensuring accuracy and legitimacy.
Match invoices with purchase orders, batch transactions, and record entries accurately in the ledger.
Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Reconcile accounts by reviewing, investigating, and correcting errors or inconsistencies in financial documents and reports.
Ensure adherence to internal financial procedures and compliance standards.
Generate and maintain detailed reports related to accounts payable activities.
Utilize accounting software systems and ERP tools to manage workflows efficiently.
Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements - Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, preferably in medium to large-sized organizations.
Proficiency in accounting software systems and familiarity with ERP platforms, such as SAP.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective vendor and team interactions.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting functions.
Experience with account coding and handling customer invoices is preferred.
