Job Title: Chassis Dyno- Emissions Test TechnicianJob Description
The Chassis Dyno- Emissions Test Technician will work within the Noise and Vibration Chassis Dynamometer Lab and Program Mileage Outdoor Dynamometer Lab. The technician ensures first-time quality and timely delivery of test data for various test areas, supporting engineering groups that meet federal and internal requirements. This role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision and collaborate with various organizations during the vehicle development process.
Responsibilities
Set up and perform emission testing on vehicles.
Evaluate test results and recommend corrective actions.
Install, remove, and monitor test vehicles on a chassis dynamometer, including portable test equipment.
Communicate with previous shifts and manage vehicle installation and removal from the chassis.
Work with non-intrusive robots and set up tests.
Monitor tests and collect data.
Essential Skills
Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills for effective collaboration.
Partnership and teamwork skills with the ability to learn and share knowledge.
Dyno knowledge, preferably with chassis dyno experience.
Automotive test lab experience.
Associate degree or 2 years of related experience, including chassis dyno and robot installation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2 years of experience with dynamometer systems.
Experience with data acquisition systems for vehicles.
ASE/mechanic background .
2-year technical degree.
Work Environment
The position is onsite at the Milford Proving Grounds in a large test garage. The environment includes engineering centers, test labs, garages, and test tracks. Training will take place on the 1st shift, but candidates must be open to working 1st or 2nd shifts, with the possibility of a 3rd shift in the future. The work involves cutting-edge, automated calibration to minimize engineer interaction, and includes a controlled environment with extensive technical instrumentation communication.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.50/hr.
