Summary:
The Executive Protection (EP) Associate's primary role in the Executive Protection team is to provide close-in protection for Huntington Chairman and CEO/ELT. This role involves conducting venue advances and site surveys, threat assessments, coordination with security personnel, and providing logistical support to ensure the safety and security of executives during their daily movement, activities, and special events. The Executive Protection Associate reports to the EP Manager and works in close collaboration and coordination with Senior Executive Protection Specialists and is expected to demonstrate a high level of attentiveness, operational judgment, and flexibility. This position works closely with executive administrative assistants and the Aviation department to ensure safe and secure pick-up and drop-off times occur.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Threat Assessment: Assist in conducting threat assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks to executives and VIPs.
Emergency Response: Attend medical training and maintain proficiency in first aid/CPR and provided, as needed, and assist in coordinating with first responders during emergencies.
Advances and Security Coordination: Conduct site surveys prior to the event and coordinate with appropriate security personnel and service providers to support the protection needs of executives.
Travel Support: Assist in providing Duty of Care support and travel tracking for executive international travel.
Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor security systems and report any irregularities or concerns. Maintain awareness of security threats and anomalies at work and residence.
Protective Driving: Transport executives and VIPs to events and appointments, utilizing defensive driving techniques as required.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external business partners, local officials, and agencies.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all protective, operational, and communications equipment is maintained and in good working condition
Administrative Tasks: Complete and maintain various reports, including incident reports, shift logs, and security assessments.
Logistical Support: Provide administrative and logistical support for security operations, including preplanning activities for events and trips.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
3+ years practical security experience or Law Enforcement employment
Valid Driver's License
State certified Carry Concealed Weapons permit
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Basic EMT experience preferred
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with Microsoft and Apple/Mac Operating System
Ability to work independently and within a small team effectively.
Ability to maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
Rapid and effective decision-making during unusual or emergency situations
Ability to effectively communicate security-related concepts/concerns to all levels of personnel;
General knowledge of relevant laws and regulations that govern the protection of information security and physical assets
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and use discretion when dealing with difficult situations and sensitive information
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication (both written and oral) skills
Knowledge of hospitals within a radius of assignment to expedite logistics, if necessary, for an executive or principle
Awareness of cultural diversity
Ability to meet the established physical demands required to successfully perform the essential functions
