Position Summary
The Unit Coordinator oversees development and implementation of care plans for residents and ensures nursing documentation meets regulatory and facility standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading care conferences and Minimum Data Set (MDS) completion

Supervising approx. 40 direct reports (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, HAs)

Supporting 25 beds directly and shared oversight of ~100 beds
-
Coordinating schedules, staffing needs, and approving PTO
-
Participating in hiring, onboarding, education, and staff evaluations
-
Serving as clinical resource, mentor, and service recovery lead
-
Tracking state-required MDS documentation
-
Leading daily shift huddles and nursing leadership committees
-
Supporting a culture of safety, teamwork, and resident-centered care
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 5 years of clinical experience required

RN license in good standing (State of Michigan)

BLS certification required

Leadership experience and advanced certification preferred

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with computers and electronic documentation
-
On-call availability required

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with heavier tasks
