Your Contribution As a the Head of Project Purchasing reporting to the Head of Thermal Management, you will work As a business partner within the project teams project buying assures that external material costs are optimal to enable MAHLE`s competitiveness in the market. The material has to be provided to the project in time and requested quality. * Mentor and coach, personnel capacity & qualification planning for currently 7 Project Buyers located in Farmington Hills and Mexico. Conduct annual performance reviews for employees * Develop annual goals and objectives * Ensure that project objectives regarding timelines, quality and target prices are achieved * Ensure regional & global projects are coordinated between the regions * Provide feedback to regional commodity buying and lead buying about the supplier performance during the project phase * Support and responsibility for IPCO tech activities in projects and series * Ensure that project buying is respecting/applying& following and executing all relevant processes and methods e.g. supplier panel/bidder list alignment, RFQ process, quotation analyses, cost level definition, TRM, SDC, APQP * Intervention in conflict situations ensuring that the project targets and BU specific targets are not endangered * Approval of sourcing decision for new parts Your Experience & Qualifications * Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or Bachelor Degree in Business * 7 years experience in a purchasing, quality or manufacturing environment * Must have good understanding of quality and statistical process control techniques as well as basic manufacturing processes such as light assembly, metal working, electronics assembly, rubber and plastic molding Our Offering We will provide a collaborative environment working on exciting assignments, along with ongoing personal & career development opportunities.
