Job Title: Project ArchitectJob Description
The Project Architect is responsible for producing accurate shop drawings and technical documentation for architectural metal panel systems. This role requires full proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with the ability to perform all responsibilities using either platform based on project needs.
Responsibilities
Develop complete shop drawings using AutoCAD or Revit, as dictated by project-specific requirements.
Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details aligned with company standards and customer specifications.
Interpret structural and architectural drawings to translate design intent into practical, code-compliant systems.
Support layout development for rainscreen systems and panel attachments in both 2D and 3D environments.
Perform accurate material take-offs based on architectural layouts and system condition to support procurement and planning.
Generate and maintain clear and consistent tag drawings and releases.
Review Releases for consistency with layout, quantities, and fabrication details.
Review scope and drawing completeness before release to support downstream fabrication and project planning.
Coordinate and track drawing releases, ensuring alignment with project schedules and production needs.
Review architectural and structural documents to verify scope and ensure accurate execution.
Collaborate with Engineering, Fabrication Specialists, and Project Managers to identify and resolve constructability issues.
Apply redline corrections, document changes accurately, and ensure timely drawing updates.
Provide timely updates and coordination support across disciplines to ensure project deliverables are met.
Follow established drafting and product standards for both AutoCAD and Revit environments.
Participate in peer reviews and internal quality checks to ensure drawing accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
Apply redline corrections as needed, documenting and tracking changes thoroughly.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve discrepancies before release.
Conduct quality checks on peer drawings, take-offs, and releases.
Track and report on individual KPIs, such as drawing quality, on-time performance, and redline accuracy.
Take ownership of drawing performance, proactively identifying and addressing challenges or inefficiencies.
Suggest improvements to templates, tools, and workflows for both Revit and AutoCAD environments.
Participate in departmental initiatives focused on quality, standardization, and process optimization.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, contract documents, and specifications.
Experience in engineering and/or architectural drafting and rendering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or other related technical fields.
Familiarity with architectural metals or panelized façade systems is a plus.
Experience in a collaborative environment either as a leader or participant.
Work Environment
The work environment is in the office 5 days a week with a very collaborative team. The office features a massive lunch/break room where team members come together to share ideas, enjoy lunch, and watch television. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
