Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Loan Closer - Support to join our team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful and compliant closing of residential mortgage loans. This role requires strong collaboration with internal teams, borrowers, and external partners to ensure smooth and timely loan closings.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review closing documents to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Coordinate with title companies, attorneys, borrowers, and internal teams to facilitate accurate and timely loan closings.
Verify all loan conditions and documentation to meet underwriting and compliance requirements before closing.
Manage the disbursement of funds according to approved closing statements and ensure proper execution of funding.
Oversee timely delivery of closing packages and address any post-closing issues or discrepancies.
Maintain organized records of closed loans and follow internal procedures for delivery or archiving.
Communicate effectively with loan officers, processors, underwriters, and other departments throughout the loan process.
Monitor adherence to federal, state, and company lending regulations.
Resolve any closing-related issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance. Requirements - A minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage closing, loan processing, or a related role within the banking or credit union industry.
Strong knowledge of closing disclosure requirements and familiarity with conventional loan products; experience with VA and FHA loans is a plus.
Proficiency in loan origination systems such as Encompass or similar platforms.
Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial data.
