Job Description
The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking a dynamic leader to work in public service as an Assistant Director in the Office of Credit Unions. This position is an opportunity to build a lifelong career doing work that truly matters - helping to protect consumers and maintain public confidence in Michigan's insurance and financial services industries.
The right candidate will serve as a leader in credit union regulation, examination staff development, and monitoring Michigan's credit union industry. You would be integral in research, examination program operations, regulatory analysis, financial analytics, and otherwise assisting in the overall operations of the Office of Credit Unions. You would also play an important role in determining needed enforcement action and ensuring transparency through reporting activities.

The ability to professionally represent the Michigan Office of Credit Unions on a local and national level, on complex credit union issues, including the ability to travel with some travel requiring overnight stay.

Work Location: This is an in-person position based in Lansing, Michigan,with the possibility for a hybrid work schedule where you would work from home up to three days per week, following a training period if approved.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Five years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to a specialist or manager at the 13-level or higher.
Alternate Education and Experience
State Administrative Manager 16
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
