Position Summary
Assists Mortgage Bankers in the daily operation of their business. Collect documents.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Work on all necessary tasks required to assist Mortgage Bankers in their business.
- Written and verbal communication with clients and business partners via email and use of Top of Mind.
- Prepare the loan file for disclosures and or re-disclosures within the legal time frames.
- Understand mortgage product and what documents are needed from the borrower for the specific loan type.
- Examine credit worthiness of incoming loan submissions by verifying information as input by Mortgage Bankers; including ensuring automated underwriting system approval is based on accurate information.
- Order necessary documents as needed based on approval type of loan; follow up on documentation that is not received timely.
- Manage e-folder for documents. Upload, label, and attached to underwriting conditions.
- Submit files to underwriting for review; work with processors to clear any conditions to make loan approval final.
- Manage pipeline of loans for Mortgage Bankers ensuring loans are processed timely to meet closing deadlines, including weekly status meetings.
- Partner with Mortgage Bankers, processors, and underwriters on difficult loan transactions.
- Assist with Modifications to include reviewing docs for accuracy and coordination with borrowers to sign the modification docs.
- Help clear post-closing items as requested.
- Work with and maintain positive working relationships with outside service providers.
- Clearly understand and follow all regulatory and compliance policies and procedures. Notify your immediate supervisor if a noncompliance situation occurs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
Job Specifications:
Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent. Related training or a college degree is preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of prior mortgage lending experience including experience with web based automated underwriting systems, Loan Origination systems and working with correspondent lenders preferred but not required. Government lending experience preferred but not required.
