Signata USA LLC has openings for Design/Product Engineers at its facility in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Position is hybrid, working in office 3 days a week, and 2 days remote. Job duties include:
1. Responsible for engineering 2D and 3D design activities using Catia V5, NX, TeamCenter, and Class-A surface design for the company’s mechatronic products, including shifters and actuators.
2. Coordinate, execute, and control the product’s design to achieve cost targets by using DFM Guidelines, GD&T methods and stack up analysis, DVP, FMEA, FEA methods, and material specifications.
3. Participate in formulating the engineering strategy on estimating the cost of product design changes.
4. Assist and monitor the assembly of prototypes and resolve design problems and document changes.
5. Comply with all IATF 16949 company standards.
6. Investigate new technologies in the industry and consult with suppliers to obtain the latest technology.
7. Lead customer team meetings regarding product design.
8. 10% domestic and international travel to company locations in El Paso, Texas; Detroit metropolitan area, Michigan; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Germany and Mexico.
Position requires: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and 5 years’ post baccalaureate progressive experience working in the automotive industry in the position of Product Engineer, Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer or other design engineering positions. 5 years’ experience is required in the following:
1. Working with both Catia V5 and NX.
2. Working with TeamCenter.
3. Design of automotive Class-A surface.
4. 2D drawing including GD&T methodology and stack up analysis.
5. Using FEA methods and analyzing results.
6. Using IATF 16949 standards.
Experience may be obtained concurrently.
