Position Summary:
- To assist the MRI Technologist in their daily duties

What the MRI Aide will do:
Assist Technologist with prepping patient for examination.
Welcome and greet patients.
Help get patients changed; Identify and assist with special needs IE: wheelchair, hearing defects etc.
Under direction of the technologist transport patients and help move them to the scanner table.
Aid the Technologist in positioning the patient for their scan.
Answer phone and coordinate patient flow with nursing units and the Emergency Department.
Access patient information from the hospital information system. Input pharmacy charges for contrast, assist in updating chart notes and scanning in paperwork.
Stock supplies, linen and prepare room for next patient.
Pull full linen and garbage as needed and place in soiled utility.
Under the direction of the technologist, assist in MRI safety screening / radiation safety, including safety form review, surgical history and device look up.
What the MRI Aide will need:
High school graduate with patient experience or Medical Assistant certification.
Must meet MRI safety screening requirements to work within Zone 4 magnetic field.
Computer knowledge and medical terminology preferred.
