Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client on a contract basis in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role involves overseeing financial operations and collaborating closely with management to ensure efficient processes and accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise and a proactive approach to supporting both financial and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage accounting functions across multiple operating companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Supervise accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and administrative teams, providing guidance and reviewing work as needed.
Oversee job costing and financial tracking for 25-40 ongoing construction and equipment projects.
Prepare and review profit and loss statements (P& L) and balance sheets, ensuring timely reconciliations.
Collaborate with general managers and operational teams to align financial processes with business goals.
Conduct variance analysis to compare budgeted figures with actual results, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Streamline month-end closing processes, aiming to reduce completion timelines and enhance efficiency.
Ensure proper tax filings and record maintenance in accordance with regulations.
Optimize standardized accounting templates and workflows to improve manual processes.
Utilize systems such as Sage Intacct to manage financial data effectively
Requirements - Proven experience in accounting management, preferably within construction or service industries.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and job costing.
Familiarity with financial operations, including profit and loss (P& L) statements and balance sheet management.
Expertise in conducting variance analysis and reconciling accounts.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage Intacct.
Ability to oversee multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational and analytical abilities to improve processes and drive results.
