POSITION TITLE: MUSIC LITURGY DIRECTOR
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: PART-TIME, NON-EXEMPT
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: PASTOR
PURPOSE: Responsible for all aspects of the parish sacred music program, ensuring all music is liturgically appropriate for Sunday Holy Masses, Holy Days, and special celebrations as requested by the Pastor.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
• Plans and provides music as the organist for all weekend Masses, Holy Days, funerals,and special celebrations.
• Follows the guidelines and suggestions of the church regarding the appropriate music for the Liturgy.
• Guides the choir through practices.
• Proficient in choral conducting, organ and piano, Catholic liturgy, and ensures there is a choir for Funeral Holy Masses and for any special requests of the Pastor.
• Coordinates with the Pastor regarding major Holy Liturgical Seasons of the church year, i.e. Lent, Easter, Christmas.
Music Liturgy Director for St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Gwinn. Responsible for all aspects of the parish sacred music program, including planning and providing music for weekend Masses, holy days, funerals, weddings, and other liturgical events. Candidate should be proficient in choral conducting, organ and piano, and Catholic liturgy.
