Job Summary
The Professional Process Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing processes related to the production of chlor-alkali chemicals, such as chlorine and caustic soda. The role requires a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, process equipment, and safety standards to ensure efficient, sustainable, and safe production. This is a full-time position that reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
Essential Functions:
• Design and improve skid mounted chemical processing equipment used for converting raw
materials into final products, ensuring safety, quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Work effectively with other engineers and team members to achieve common goals.
• Provide technical information and training to staff in other departments, such as
marketing/sales and production staff.
• Research component materials for specific applications.
• Resource suppliers for components.
• Create PFD’s, P&ID’s, data sheets, etc. as required.
• Develop specifications for equipment as well as performance requirements.
• Test to make sure that machinery has the capability to carry out desired functions.
• Participate in commissioning to ensure that systems and equipment are functioning according to specifications.
• Coordinate and implement training to ensure that proper instruction is provided to customer’s personnel to implement operating procedures, safety protocols, and to avoid system malfunctions.
• Test alternative techniques and methods; recommend changes in procedures or equipment as necessary. Seek cost-effective modifications to design and components to increase profitability of equipment.
• Assist in training new employees; may oversee temporary or co-op employees.

industry organization meetings and other training sessions/seminars.

Education & Experience:
• Four year technical or engineering degree.
• Minimum of five years relevant experience in the chlor-alkali industry including brine treatment, caustic processing, etc.
