Description
We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join client's team in Manistee, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, who is ready to contribute to financial operations and reporting. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial data.
Responsibilities:
Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and timely payment execution.
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and balanced financial records.
Maintain the general ledger by recording and reviewing transactions.
Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Assist in month-end closing activities, including financial reporting and account analysis.
Oversee fixed asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation calculations.
Utilize Sage Accounting Software for efficient financial data management and reporting.
Collaborate with team members to support audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records to maintain accuracy.
Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements in accounting operations.
Requirements - A minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
Proficiency in accounts payable processes and bank reconciliations.
Solid understanding of general ledger management and journal entries.
Experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
Familiarity with fixed asset accounting, including depreciation methods.
Hands-on experience with Sage Accounting Software or similar platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication abilities to collaborate effectively.
