Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer to support operations and manufacturing during the D Shift, which runs from 5 pm to 5 am every other Wednesday, and every Thursday, Friday, Saturday. This role requires close collaboration with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, using ladder logic to examine process steps and identify problems. The position involves 80% floor support and 20% small improvement projects, such as reconfiguring HMIs, making control changes, and adjusting timers for efficiency.
Responsibilities
Provide floor support for troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and resolve equipment problems using ladder logic.
Reconfigure HMIs and make control changes to improve process efficiency.
Adjust timers and make necessary improvements to ensure operational effectiveness.
Act as the primary contact for the maintenance team when issues arise.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, troubleshooting controls.
Proficiency in RSLogix 5000, HMIs, and motor drives.
Experience with Fanuc Robots.
Ability to read electrical prints and perform electrical troubleshooting.

Work Environment
This position is in a clean and highly automated environment with extrusion and casting machines reaching temperatures of 2,000 degrees. The dress code is casual, with expectations to get dirty while working on machines. You will be working in a 480,000 sq ft facility that is growing rapidly, manufacturing aluminum products for automotive, consumer, industrial, and medical device markets. You will be one of four controls engineers at the plant, and the only person on the weekend night shift.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
