Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse
Job Description
The Clinical Research Nurse will be integral to the research team, working independently at location in Dearborn while undergoing initial training in Detroit for six weeks. This role involves coordination activities for NCI cooperative group studies and pharmaceutical trials, working with various disease groups and physicians. The nurse will handle patient identification, consent, screenings, testing, follow-ups, and management guidance for providers. Additionally, responsibilities include handling blood samples, but exclude data entry and regulatory tasks.
Responsibilities
Coordinate activities for NCI cooperative group studies and pharmaceutical trials.
Identify potential patients by reviewing clinic schedules and pre-screening.
Work with providers to inform them about patient management.
Consent and organize all screenings, testing, and follow-ups with patients.
Guide providers on patient management, dosing, and care.
Spin blood samples, store, and ship samples.
Assist with scheduling and patient visits.
Collaborate with 14 physicians across various disease sites.
Essential Skills
Registered Nurse license.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-acuity area.
Oncology or clinical research experience.
Proficiency in clinical care, chart review, and patient recruitment.

Work Environment
The Clinical Research Nurse will work at location in Dearborn, with initial training in Detroit for six weeks. The nurse will be the sole representative of the research team at these sites, collaborating closely with the lead nurse at the clinic and the cancer center research team. A lead coordinator will be available for support. The role offers the opportunity to accrue four weeks of vacation within the first year as a consultant.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
