Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join our team. The Shipping Coordinator will ensure delivery to our customers on time through freight management. Initial training will take place at our Peabody, MA location for up to several weeks, with all travel and lodging expenses covered. This hands-on training ensures full understanding of systems, processes, and supplier relationships before transitioning to the Livonia location.
Core Responsibilites:
Schedules shipments to ensure delivery by promised deadlines.
Receives orders and assigns shipments to appropriate carriers.
Monitors inventory via an enterprise resource planning system or similar control system for on time and complete delivery.
Prepare and manage international shipping documentation.
Assists customer service representatives with order status inquiries and special customer needs.
Resolves delivery problems for both domestic and international shipments
Analyzes inventory and shipping procedures; recommends updates and improvements to logistics supervisor.
Ensuring compliance with safety and legal guidelines, standards and regulations in all shipping and transportation processes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
4-6 years of experience in a shipping warehouse required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of import and export regulations and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with computerized distribution systems.
Education and Experience:
o High school diploma or equivalent required.
o Physical Requirements:
o Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
o Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
