Job Title: Event Planner
Job Description
The Event Planner will play a crucial role in supporting the cultural activities within the Research and Development (R&D) department. This position involves providing logistical support for internal and VIP events, developing and supporting internal communications, assisting with annual plan project management, and performing flexible duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Event Project Manager to ensure the smooth execution of cultural activities and events within the R&D department.
Coordinate with vendors to secure necessary services and supplies for events.
Provide site support, including venue setup and breakdown, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed efficiently.
Assist in organizing and managing the event day team to ensure seamless event execution.
Develop and distribute R&D-wide emails to keep the department informed about upcoming events and activities.
Create and manage a weekly newsletter to highlight key updates, achievements, and upcoming events.
Support the development of event communications, including invitations, promotional materials, and post-event summaries.
Track the status of various projects within the annual plan, ensuring timely completion and reporting.
Assist in coordinating communications related to the annual plan, including updates and progress reports.
Provide support for town hall meetings and expos, including logistical arrangements and communication efforts.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed, based on the evolving needs of the department and supervisor's directives.
Essential Skills
2+ years of recent event planning experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with parties across the company.
Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
Self-motivated, self-starter, problem solver.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field, preferred.
Strong analysis and project management skills.
Previous executive support and communications experience, a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
