Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Owosso, Michigan. This position offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of essential financial processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the company's payment operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable and a commitment to maintaining compliance with established policies.
Responsibilities:
Review and accurately process vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices to verify transaction accuracy.
Ensure timely payments through checks, wire transfers, or other approved methods.
Address vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in billing and payments.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain detailed vendor records.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and financial reporting.
Monitor outstanding payments and investigate any overdue balances.
Provide supporting documentation and explanations for annual audits.
Uphold compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP, along with Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks independently or collaboratively.
Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Experience with invoice coding, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
