Assistant Controller - Hybrid | Novi, MI
Adecco is happy to present the following opportunity with one of our established clients in the Detroit area.
We're currently seeking an Assistant Controller to support a multi-site business unit with a complex operational footprint. This role will partner closely with the Business Unit Finance Manager to manage accounting workflows, drive financial analysis, and act as a hands-on resource for both corporate and field-based leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions (billing, AP/AR, payroll, invoicing, cash receipts)
Partner with operations, sales, and HR teams to ensure smooth financial processes across departments
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis, and capital project tracking
Support internal and external audit processes
Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal controls
Lead or support special projects including pricing strategy and business development support
Mentor junior team members and help enforce performance standards
What We're Looking For:
4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
Strong GAAP knowledge and understanding of internal controls
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with Lawson or other large ERP systems preferred
Ability to work across departments and communicate financial data to non-finance stakeholders
Exposure to both accounting and FP&A is highly preferred
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus

Pay Details: $98,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
