Michigan Construction Company is a dynamic and growing construction company specializing in new home builds, additions, renovations, and insurance restoration work. As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a skilled and motivated Project Coordinator to help bring our projects to life — from blueprints to completion.
Position Overview
As a Project Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our construction projects running smoothly. You'll work directly with the Estimators, Project Managers, subcontractors, and homeowners to ensure timelines are met, communication flows clearly, and every detail is accounted for — from foundation to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer the phones, gather pertinent data, and enter into our software
- Prepare accurate proposals for customers in a timely manner with information provided by the estimator
- Assist with the day-to-day activities in the estimating and project management departments
- Communicate with employees, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to manage schedules and logistics
- Track project progress, budgets, materials, and change orders
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation (permits, contracts, selections, photos, etc.)
- Support insurance repair workflows including documentation, scope coordination, and restoration timelines
- Provide administrative support to the entire team and resolve issues as they arise
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in construction or project coordination
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working with customers and maintaining strong customer service
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Buildertrend and/or Xactimate is a plus
- Understanding of the building process, from permitting to punch list
- Knowledge of insurance restoration processes is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple active jobs
