The Food Services position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-based technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties: The Food Services Supervisor is responsible for providing administration to all phases of the kitchen, cafeteria and food storage.
Description of Duties:
- Responsible for the management of the department by providing guidance and support to staff-members assigned to this department.
- Ensures staff members have required training to complete key areas of responsibilities.
- Provides documented training to staff and cross-trains department employees, where applicable.
- Coordinates staff meetings.
- Ensures that all staff participates in CMT.
- Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensures department is compliant with all safety standards and expectations to include proper workmen’s compensation reporting.
- Ensures department is in compliance with all DOL, Corporate and Center requirements.
- Ensures Center receives 100% on environmental health inspections or other food services inspections.
- Implements food/dietary services that ensure nutritional adequacy in appropriately monitored setting.
- Creates and submits menus that assure nutritional adequacy including modified diets and special diets. Establishes quality standards for planning, preparing, and food yield.
- Recommends and/or orders food and other related supplies and ensures department is well stocked. Requisitions and inspects foodstuffs, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure quality standards are met.

- Coordinates food service committee for students.
- Inspects equipment for cleanliness and functional operation.
- Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
- Works with Recreation and Health and Wellness Managers on healthy lifestyles program.
- Adds dietary information to all meals served.
- Works with academics and career technical departments for applied academics.
- Ensures equipment assigned to the department is properly accounted for and maintained in good condition. Tracks spending of staff each month.
- Provides feedback for over/under spending.
- Notifies the Center Director of repairs/costs above routine expenditures.

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or management or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience
