Job Description
The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking an individual to work in public service as a Secretary in the Office of Consumer Finance. This position is an opportunity to build a lifelong career doing work that truly matters - helping to protect consumers and maintain public confidence in Michigan's insurance and financial services industries.
The right candidate will serve an important role within the Office of Consumer Finance and provide secretarial and administrative assistance to managers and staff. The office is responsible for licensing and regulating companies and individuals in the consumer finance industry, including mortgage companies, payday lenders, money transfer services, and others. The person hired will be responsible for receiving and transmitting confidential correspondence, including reports and enforcement documents; gathering performance metrics reports for management; handling various administrative support services; and other duties as assigned.

Work Location: This is an in-person position based in Lansing, Michigan, with the possibility for a hybrid work schedule where you would work from home up to three days per week, following a training period if approved.
Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
