Job Summary
Under the direction of the Automotive Sales Manager, the Key Account Manager - OEM is responsible for outside sales of all HellermannTyton products in the Detroit area. Account responsibility will be for business at OEM, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tier suppliers. Accounts will be assigned.
Essential Functions:
Oversee specific automotive accounts in the Detroit area, with the main focus being at accounts assigned.
Make face-to-face interaction with design engineers and purchasing personnel.
Monitor all current business
Work closely with the North American sales team to ensure assigned tier account activities at each OEM are managed most efficiently.
Is responsible for developing spec opportunities in multiple product categories (ex LV wiring, HV wiring, Coolant systems, Braking systems, Fuel Systems)
Develops relationships with key Technical Specialists in the above product categories.
Communicate consistently with global key account managers on assigned accounts
Present activities and opportunities from each OEM account on a monthly basis.
Develop relationships with key vehicle program leads at assigned accounts
Arrange and present product overview presentations to targeted groups/teams
Support cross-functional activities as required
Understand customers' product pipeline and lead targeted vehicle growth initiatives
Travel to the manufacturing facilities of accounts assigned.
Telephone contact and follow-up will be critical to the success of the position.
Demonstrate and sample products.
Look for applications for standard products and new product development.
Facilitate sample product requests
Achieve targeted growth goals
Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business or Engineering.
5+ years of working within the automotive market.
Must live in the Greater Detroit, MI Area
Proven history of growing sales through effective key account management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with all departments of an organization.
Ability to build and execute strategies as well as develop and close sales opportunities.
Understanding of basic financial principles surrounding ROI and quoting.
Outgoing personality with the ability to connect with customer contacts
Must have high energy and the ability to build and support a team atmosphere.
Technical ability to work with design engineers - read and interpret product drawings and understand the CAD/technical environments in which they work
Strong multi-task abilities.
Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Must be willing to travel globally on occasion.
Proficient in CRM.
Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and adequate insurance
