Description We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Traverse City, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision components that meet engineering specifications. This position requires a strong understanding of machining techniques, the ability to interpret blueprints, and the use of precision measuring tools to ensure quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate parts that meet engineering specifications.
Use tools such as edge finders, indicators, and probes to establish machine work offsets.
Interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings, including GD& T, to set up and run parts accurately.
Monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and report discrepancies.
Inspect finished workpieces using precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications.
Troubleshoot and recognize machine deviations versus tooling or work-holding issues, escalating as necessary.
Perform detailed first-part inspections for mid- to high-complexity parts to ensure quality standards.
Consistently meet production timelines and communicate delays or issues to supervisors.
Maintain accurate records of part counts, data entry, and required documentation.
Follow all company safety protocols, including proper use of equipment and adherence to safety procedures. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred.
At least 1-3 years of experience in CNC machining; 3-5 years preferred.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD& T specifications.
Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and performing basic mathematical calculations.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
Good vision, with or without corrective measures, to perform detailed inspections.
