Description We are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Rochester, Michigan. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and patient services. The role involves assisting patients with registration in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings, along with providing support for department needs.
Responsibilities:
Assist patients with registration processes in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
Perform accurate data entry tasks to maintain patient records and ensure system updates.
Support patients with technology-related needs during the registration process.
Collaborate with team members to address department requirements and ensure seamless operations.
Participate in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays, while maintaining flexibility for department needs.
Rotate between assigned locations in Madison Heights and Macomb campuses as required.
Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination, flu shots, and occupational health screenings.
Complete a comprehensive five-week training program before transitioning to midnight shifts. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role; healthcare experience is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle patient interactions effectively.
Exceptional reliability and dependability in meeting work schedules and commitments.
Proficient in accurate data entry with attention to detail.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to adapt to dynamic work environments.
Availability for rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Must be vaccinated against COVID-19, have a flu shot, and complete an occupational health screening.
