This is the supervisor for warehouse operations on the weekday shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. This staff member has direct hire, training, discipline responsibilities for a team of bargained and non-bargained for 25 employees including scheduling, payroll and other administrative functions. The staff member shares responsibility with the Associate Supervisor on the shift to execute the daily operations plan for routine stock keeping for many CW inpatient, specialty areas, and clinics as well as support for all clinical areas on the main medical campus requesting supplemental orders and other assistance from the B2 warehouse. The supervisor is responsible for communicating any issues with inbound supplier shipments that occur on shift, including routine LUM orders as well as specialty and emergency orders. This team member is also responsible for routine quality assurance reviews and eliminating the risk of expired product for each unit during regularly scheduled reviews for all stocked locations. The supported footprint is any clinical area on the main medical campus that has supply needs between 3:00 PM and 11:30 PM. The team member activity participates and/or leads continuous improvement efforts including A3 development, root cause investigation, training development, delivery and other change management activities.
- Supervise supply chain logistics including inventory control, receiving, put-away, PAR replenishment, and product staging
- Maintain and develop plans to ensure unit supply needs are being met as their needs are constantly changing. Meet routinely with customers to ensure satisfaction and compliance
- Hire and evaluate/ critique the performance and proficiencies of staff. Interview, train, coach, and terminate employees. Handle and initiate all personnel forms related to payroll, appointment changes, and leaves of absences
- Handle and problem solve all complaints from customers and grievances including progressive discipline
- Use root cause analysis to problem solve and recommend changes to processes and complete training to prevent re-occurrences.
- Review/records/approves payroll time for employees, directly on electronic timesheet
- Monitors compliance with/on current department and institutional policies and procedures and all government and regulatory agency codes and regulations

- Monitors productivity standards/control systems for responsible processes, interprets this information and exercises action as appropriate to ensure maximum work efficiency; communicates findings, and suggested improvement/resolutions, to manager.
- Assist manager with new work area policies and procedures, develops training materiel and then ensures training is completed, incorporating P.D.C.A. quality improvement method and LEAN principles, along with safety compliance.
- Evaluates proficiency and performance of staff and initiates corrective or disciplinary action as necessary.
- Maintains appropriate supplies and tools necessary for process team members to provide services.
- Collaborates interdepartmentally with other Materiel / Inventory supervisors/mangers, customers and suppliers, to resolve service problems.
- Maintains a professional customer sensitive rapport with hospital personnel, along with patients and visitors.
- Handles employees? complaints and grievances
- Interview and hire new employees and ensure training and performance measures are met; provide manager with information when necessary.
- Conduct progressive corrective action promptly, up to and including termination, when necessary.
- Either a 2-year college degree + 1 year or more progressive warehouse / inventory supervision experience OR 3 or more years of experience leading /supervising with a proven record of progressive increased responsibility, solving more routine to somewhat complex problems, leading shift or areas specific teams and working on simple to complex level projects.
