First Ward Community Center (FWCC) is committed to serving our community through comprehensive programs focused on prevention, education, and support services. We seek a motivated and experienced Prevention Supervisor to join our dedicated team.
Position Summary:
The Prevention Supervisor will oversee a team of Certified and Non-Certified Prevention Specialists, providing leadership, guidance, and support across all prevention programs. This role requires significant independent judgment and the ability to adapt established guidelines to meet evolving needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of FWCC's services.
Responsibilities:

Supervise, consult, and support professional and paraprofessional prevention staff.

Refer clients to additional services, including medical treatment, social services, and employment assistance.

Prepare and maintain detailed reports and case histories.

Lead and participate in staff meetings, team conferences, and client case reviews.

Coordinate and deliver training sessions and workshops to support staff development.

Stay updated on best practices and current trends in prevention and substance use disorder treatment.

Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned to support the center’s mission.
Required Qualifications:

Associate degree minimum, plus at least 2 years of prior related experience.

Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) certification required.

Valid Michigan driver’s license.

Must pass a physical exam, drug screening, and Michigan State Police record check.

Experience with electronic client records systems.

Strong knowledge of substance use disorders.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with clients, staff, and visitors.

Ability to bend, reach, and stand for short periods and occasionally lift items up to 20 pounds.
Physical Demands:
The role may occasionally require bending, reaching, standing for short periods, and lifting or carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds.
