This position will report to the Production Supervisor. The Fabricator must read and follow job specification sheets, blueprints and company policies in order to assemble products consisting of sub-assemblies, fittings, pumps, hydraulics, valves, electrical panels and parts using hand tools and power tools.
Essential Functions
• Check and follow blueprints to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Review bill of materials versus blueprints to ensure adequate materials are available for project. Inform supervisor of any discrepancies.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies per each job.
• Install, bend, cut, thread and cut off piping, and shape and fabricate pipe to particular requirements for the job.
• Set up and operate various bending, threading and cutoff equipment.
• Make hydraulic pressure test of piping installations. Check and adjust controls, gauges, valves to achieve desired flow or pressure.
• Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous or incorrect piping systems and corrective action taken or documented.
• Read levels to ensure lines are installed correctly.
• Inform project manager of any issues that affect the project.
• Follow production schedules.
• Complete production reports and accurately record time and job number data.
• Organize and stock bins for floor stock materials.
• Perform production area cleaning duties.
• Perform grounds duties such as snow removal, salting sidewalks, lawn care etc.
• Maintain clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies.
• Other job-related duties and expectations as communicated by management.
• Work additional hours as required.
• Follow Powell procedures and policies at all times.
• Must always wear company approved safety equipment and notify supervisor of defective safety equipment when identified. Is responsible for ceasing work if defective safety equipment is evident.
Job Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Ability to distinguish the proper fittings (size and type) for each job by using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, micrometers and tape measures.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools in accordance with company safety guidelines.
• Must be familiar with blueprint reading.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or
controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; squat; climb; see; talk and hear. Must be able to climb ladders; lift up to 50 pounds.

• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.
