Scope:
Operate Voith CNC roll grinder and associated equipment to meet specified dimensional tolerances and surface-finish requirements for paper machine rolls.
Measure and inspect rolls for roundness, taper, crown, and surface finish using micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and other precision tools.
Set up and preparation of rolls for grinding, to include the ability to conduct safe crane operation and rigging procedures.
Conduct Preventive Maintenance and proper housekeeping of Voith roll grinder and associated roll grinding equipment.
Conduct training on safe roll grinding principles/practices and the operation of roll grinding equipment
Roll record keeping and roll file maintenance.
Develop and follow written procedures
Understanding of roll balancing and roll balancing procedures
Perform duties of a Maintenance Helper as needed - Roll rebuilds, roll changes, routine and outage support on Q41.Personal qualities
Musts:
High school diploma required; technical certification in machining or CNC operation preferred.
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) to ensure tolerances are met.
Proven experience in Machine Tool operations
Interpret drawings and technical instructions.
Skilled in computer use
Must be willing to work rotating shifts
