As a Mobile Automation Commissioning Engineer with KION North America you will be the technical, on-site lead for automated guided forklift (AGF) projects. You will be an essential member of the project engineering team with a focus on integration of automated material handling equipment systems. Your focus will be on the AGFs, their performance, and their interactions with racking, conveyor, system I/O and system software. Internally, you will support the project manager, the systems engineer, onboard and offboard software engineers, and the mechatronics engineers/technicians. Externally, you will further develop and maintain relationships with the Customer project team as their technical, on-site integration contact during the execution/commissioning phases of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with engineering leads on technical design, development, application and implementation of integrated hardware and software systems
Identify and resolves complex problems through application of problem-solving skills in AGF projects/systems
Participate in the testing of complex stand-alone and integrated AGF systems (hardware and software)
Review and utilize project/vehicle/hardware specifications and documentation
Utilize AutoCAD with custom drafting tools for designing and refining system maps/layouts
Work with Customers on Full System Approval, and Acceptance
Collaborate with vendor and sub-contractors
Generate commissioning checklists and provide daily/weekly site reports
Perform duration testing and generate/compile reports
Aid Project Management in Commissioning Plans and Schedules
Support site personnel in system Startup and Go-Live activities
Develop strong customer relationships
Collaborate on process and productivity improvements, cost reductions, and delivery of customer satisfaction
Other tasks as assigned by manager
Tasks and Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Material Handling automation equipment; preferably AGV/AGF, pallet conveyor, and/or ASRS preferred
Experience with WMS, WCS, or Control Level Software preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work well within a team environment
Strong organizational skills
Self-starter who will take initiative to identify issues and pursue resolutions
Must work well under high-pressure situations
Architectural knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and software products
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
Computer skills: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office including Visio
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or related field
Travel Requirements:
Up to 90% travel
