OTA Software Engineer II
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is searching for an Engineer II to join the Over-The-Air (OTA) Operations Team. The OTA Operations Team oversees the evaluation, validation, operation, and management of OTA software updatesconcerning Hyundai/Kia/Genesis vehicles of the North American (NA) market. As a result, the OTA Operations Engineer II would support North American OTA Operations regarding vehicle software updates and telematics data analyses.
What You Will Do:
Engage in engineering projects spanning various aspects of OTA systems, ensuring the delivery of robust and reliable software updates for North American production vehicles
Conduct pre-production OTA testing and evaluation, along with post-production update validation, field monitoring, and troubleshooting to uphold quality standards
Identify root causes of issues, design effective solutions, and collaborate with HQ to implement and deploy them successfully
Perform Vehicle Customer Relationship Management (VCRM) data analysis to gain insights into customer needs, and develop dashboards, troubleshooting processes, and tools accordingly
Travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What You Will Bring to the Role:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
Experience in automotive or embedded product development
Experience in software development for vehicle electric & electronic systems, telematics systems, controller units, or related products
Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and network systems, such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet, and in operating data acquisition systemslike ETAS/INCA and Vector/CANoe
Ability to thrive in an agile work environment with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering,or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
Experience in automotive software requirements specifications for in-vehicle network management or OTA system software
Understanding of automotive telematics systems, server architecture, and cloud services
Experience in automotive telematics data analytics
Experience in production software lifecycle(s), including requirements, system design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for vehicle systems
Familiarity with classic and adaptive AUTOSAR
Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Java, C, and C++
Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps-CI/CD processes and tools
