Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for a mix of manufacturing engineering responsibilities and overseeing production on the off-shift. This role involves collaborating with leaders of manufacturing/production support to review manufacturing and production floor performance, facilitating the planning, scheduling, setup, and running of manufacturing activities. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead the dispersal and distribution of materials and maintain labor and material requirements to meet daily schedules.
Responsibilities
Maintain manufacturing production processes by observing process volumes and recommending process improvements.
Monitor progress and expedite material flow and work results, resolving problems as they arise.
Improve manufacturing process workflow by eliminating stoppages, analyzing delays, and testing new methods.
Record manufacturing production by completing daily shift reports and calculating yields and recoveries.
Maintain process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to the next shift.
Comply with the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to maintain a working relationship with the union.
Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy manufacturing process environment by adhering to organizational standards, policies, and legal regulations.
Contribute to manufacturing processes and organizational success.
Oversee manufacturing outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counseling associates.
Present job expectations, plan, monitor, and appraise job contributions while adhering to policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
Engineering experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment (highly prefers 2+ years)
General understanding of assembly or machining processes
Leadership or supervision experience
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Preference for hands-on work on the manufacturing floor rather than a desk job

Work Environment
The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the department head and work alongside three other engineers as part of a larger team of 35 individuals. The role involves working 45 hours per week, with a possibility of extending to 50 hours during busy times. Approximately 70%-80% of this role will be spent on the production floor, engaging in production support, root cause analysis, and disassembling products. The off shifts are 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) and 3rd shift (10pm-6am), with the expectation to start work 30 minutes early or stay 30 minutes late for handoff.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.87/hr.
