KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, ADL Platform Operations to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.Responsibilities:
Gain strong understanding of the Lakehouse Platform, including its workspace, architecture, and capabilities; collaborate with various departments to understand their platform needs, provide recommendations or support to streamline workflows and mitigate bottlenecks or issues
Assist in the implementation of new technologies, tools, or processes to enhance platform handling and analysis
Provide onboarding and training support for platform-related tools and processes, share best practices to promote platform literacy, and lead or participate in projects to ensure their timely and successful completion
Ensure compliance with internal standards, reinforce data governance policies, and maintain data security and privacy guidelines; identify efficiency improvements within data operations
Maintain proficiency in data platform tools and technologies such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Python, Apache Spark, SQL, and ETL
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data operations, user administration, compute resources, and assets within the Azure and Databricks ecosystemQualifications:
Minimum three years of recent experience with Azure cloud technology, specifically focusing on Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake Storage, including the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and its architectural components
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure or Databricks is desired
Proficiency in Python, Apache Spark, SQL, and a strong understanding of ETL processes, data governance, and incremental data processing
Experience in evaluating the governance and security of Databricks platform features and objects, including configuring permissions for workspace assets, jobs, clusters, and tables, as well as implementing role-based access control (RBAC) data governance practices
Capability in working with databases and data management solutions; capability in Power BI is a plus; familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps (CI/CD) processes is a plus; knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, security or identity management systems is a plus; possess practical experience with integrations and workspace APIs
Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, presentation skills and analytical mindset to support a teamwork-oriented environment; proven ability to work collaboratively across an organization, engaging both business owners and technical staff effectively; ability to positively influence, mentor, and be a credible source of knowledge to less experienced team members
