PeopleReady Skilled Trades is looking for a Journeyman Carpenter in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate must be a Union carpenter who has a union card. The carpenter must have at least 3 years of experience. This position requires the carpenter to have commercial experience in framing walls and installs of appliances, countertop, and other shelving. Note: The hourly rate for this position is $28 - $30 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:
Accurately measure, cut, and join wood, drywall, and other building materials.
Frame structures, walls, cabinets, ceilings, doors, fixtures, and scaffolding.
Assemble and fasten material together to construct wood or metal framework of structure using bolts, nails, or screws.
Use hand and power tools including but not limited to hammer drills, drills, reciprocating saws, band saws, jig saw, wrenches, miter saw, pneumatic nail guns, tape measure, snips, and squares
Installing appliances, modifying, and silicone stainless tops and shelves.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial carpentry.
Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have own carpentry tools (drill, power tools, hammer, screwdriver, tape measure, caulk gun)
Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, fully squat, bend, and kneel while wearing a tool belt.
Adhere to all OSHA safety practices and procedures.
