Peckham Inc. - 3PL Shipping & Receiving Clerk
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments within a large warehouse that stocks essential military supplies. The individual will be responsible for ensuring items are packaged according to shipping specifications, and verifying that orders are complete and accurate. Attention to detail is crucial, as the clerk must be able to recognize and validate 15-digit part numbers to prevent discrepancies. The role requires a balance of speed and precision, with minimal supervision throughout the workday.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily use of computers and multiple screens to prepare orders for shipment.
Reports any discrepancies in orders to warehouse supervisor.
When required, key in 15-digit part numbers into computer.
Verify completeness of order before shipping.
Accurately package and label merchandise to be shipped.
Daily use of push carts and manual pallet jacks, bar code scanner.
Meets deadlines.
Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer's standards of use and cleaning.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards.
Provide training support for peers.
Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years old.
Must be able to lift to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
Must be able lift up to 40 pounds on a moderate basis.
Must be able lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Access to reliable transportation.
Must gain and maintain necessary security clearances.
Basic math level.
Basic English reading and writing skills.
Basic computer skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Maintain respectful communication, give, and receive feedback.
Complete job tasks independently.
Ability to follow directions.
Ability to multi-task effectively.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Microsoft Excel.
