Job Title: Tool Room Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Tool Room Machinist for a 2nd shift position. The ideal candidate will have experience programming offline and running CNC machines. Experience with any software programming is beneficial. Candidates with set-up experience who can edit programs with g code and are eager to learn full programming are also encouraged to apply. The role involves machining new and existing molds in CNC Haas and YCM mills using Powermill and Fusion 360. Our tool room is equipped with manual machines, grinders, hand tools, and CNC 3-axis mills for mold and fixture repairs.
Responsibilities
Operate and program CNC and various cutting machines.
Operate and maintain multiple machine tools such as manual mills, lathes, CNC mills, CNC lathes, grinders, drill presses, saws, and welders.
Create sketches and interpret blueprints and schematics for machining and maintenance of tooling needs.
Build, repair, maintain, and duplicate various die/tooling details used in production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Troubleshoot tooling and die problems, perform die/tooling repairs within tolerances to maintain optimum levels of efficiency and quality.
Assist with preventative maintenance on all press tooling, assembly dies, and other production fixtures.
Assist in the design and development of die, tooling, and fixtures to improve end product quality and efficiency.
Operate and maintain measuring instruments such as height gauges, depth protractors, micrometers, scales, and calipers.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to established safety policies and procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Assist with CNC and Machinist training.
May lead shift activities in the tooling department as needed.
Essential Skills
5 years of experience reading blueprints
5 years of CNC Mill machining experience
High School Diploma or GED
3 years of experience writing CNC programs from scratch using software such as Mastercam, Surf Cam, Work NC, or Haas workstation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Fusion 360
Experience with Powermill
Experience with stamping
Experience with plastic injection
Experience with rubber injection

Work Environment
The work environment is a rubber injection facility with the smell of hot rubber in different areas. The facility is not temperature-controlled, making it hot in the summer and comfortable in the winter. In 2021, the facility added 14 new presses and continues to upgrade equipment, safety measures, and overall structures. The facility consists of three large buildings, each ranging from 150,000 to 200,000 sq. ft.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
