Position Summary:
This position exists for the effective overall operation of the Facilities Department in meeting the 24-hour demands of a successful Casino Resort operation. The Carpenter's purpose is to respond to job assignments in the repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of all equipment and related components as directed. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

In this Role:
Responsible for practicing, supporting, and always promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort's "Unsurpassed Service" Standards.
Always understand and adhere to Gun Lake Casino Resort and industry safety standards. Disregard for Team Member safety, either for self or others, is not tolerated at Gun Lake Casino Resort.
Ensure that all established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures are strictly adhered to.
Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and electrical equipment.
Make all necessary repairs to maintain the property's operations.
Respond to all internal and external guest opportunities promptly and efficiently to avoid guest inconvenience or discomfort.
Maintain all cosmetic and aesthetic features throughout Gun Lake Casino Resort. This will include painting, woodworking, carpet repair, laminate finishes, cabinetry, and other duties as assigned.
Maintain all tools and maintenance equipment.
Be familiar with all necessary computer systems including but not limited to electronic procurement systems, building automated systems, and computer maintenance systems.
Systematically prepare to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts, and materials are available and tasks can be accomplished efficiently and safely.
Have knowledge of the MSDS booklet location for your area.
All other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Must be 21+ years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent education preferred.
Three (3) years of commercial/residential carpentry experience.
Must be a self-starter with limited supervision.
Must have a valid driver's license with the State of Michigan.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications in respect to your specific trade.
Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
Ability to work not only as an individual with task-based objectives but the ability to work as a group on project-based objectives.
Physical Requirements:
Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
Requires the physical ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
May require prolonged standing. Requires bending, stooping, and reaching from floor level. Requires crawling in attic areas, climbing ladders, and stairs.
May require lifting, transporting pushing, pulling, and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 75 lb. with or without assistance. Requires hand/eye coordination and depth perception.
Manual dexterity to operate hand and foot controls.
Requires the ability to use and carry job-related equipment.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second-hand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas such as attics and high areas such as catwalks and roofs. Tasks may be performed from a non-sitting position. Team Members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, bend kneel, crawl, and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests
